What are daily contact lenses?
Daily contact lenses are also called daily disposable contact lenses, 1 day contact lenses or simply Dailies, they are the most convenient type of contact lenses for wearers. Beeing both comfortable and hygienic, daily disposables deliver excellent visual correction and convenience, as you can simply throw them away at the end of each day. There's no need for cleaning, and you will always put a pair of fresh contact lenses every day.
There are also brands of contact lenses that use ‘Dailies' in their names which can make it a little confusing.
Can I correct all vision problems with daily contact lenses?
We offer a wide range of daily disposable contact lenses to correct the following vision problems:
• Short-sightedness (myopia)
• long-sightedness (hyperopia).

What are the advantages of daily contact lenses?
Some things are best fresh. Daily contact lenses are a popular choice as they offer comfort, health, and convenience. These benefits reduce the risk of eye problems, making them a desired option. Some of the main reasons why you should choose daily wear contact lenses are:
Ease – Ideal for people with a busy lifestyle, as daily contact lens cleaning routines and need to buy solution is eliminated.
Hygiene – With a fresh pair of daily contact lenses every day, there's no protein or other irritants building up on your contact lenses.
Comfort – Because they are slightly thinner than monthly contact lenses, the daily disposable contact lenses are very comfortable.
Great for children and teens - Younger contact lens wearers do not always follow the correct contact lens cleaning schedule. With daily contact lenses, this is not a problem.
• With 2 week or monthly contact lenses you may notice a slight deterioration in the quality of vision towards the end of the period, but with a fresh pair of Dailies every day you will always have crisp and clear vision.
• Dailies are also a good choice for people with dry eyes or allergies.
• They are the ideal choice if you just wear contact lenses ocassionnally for sports or a night out (with monthly or two weekly contact lenses it's easy to lose track of when you need to replace the contact lenses).
• With daily disposable contact lenses the chances of developing contact lens related eye infections, normally associated with monthly and bi-weekly contact lenses, become almost a non-issue.
• Many contact lenses tear or get lost during the cleaning process. Without a cleaning process to consider, this problem goes away with daily disposable contact lenses.
• Some people’s tear chemistry makes it challenging to remove protein and lipids off their 2 weeks or monthly contact lenses, and despite of daily cleaning with peroxide based solutions they continue to experience a film like sensation when looking through them.

Which daily contact lenses are best for you?
Always speak with your optician before trying out new contact lenses to see if they’re a good solution for your eyes. There are a few things you also need to consider when choosing daily disposables.
One thing your optician will consider when choosing your prescription for daily contact lenses is how sensitive your eyes are. If your eyes are prone to dryness, you’ll need to be prescribed contact lenses that cater to this.
The general rule for standard hydrogel contact lenses is that the higher the water content, the more breathable they are. However, a typical silicone hydrogel contact lens offers up to five times the breathability of a hydrogel contact lens, but with lower water content. This means they can keep your eyes moist for longer, as well as maintain their more stable water content for longer.
It’s, therefore, not always the case that a contact lens with a higher water content will be better for dry eyes, as often low to mid water contact lenses can be gentler on the eyes, due to their silicone hydrogel design.
You can also find that many of our daily disposable contact lenses containing a UV blocker that helps protect your eyes (but note that contact lenses with UV protection does not eliminate the need to use sunglasses). Good daily disposable contact lenses with UV blocking include Clariti 1 Day and 1-Day Acuvue Moist.
Can daily wear daily contact lenses be used more than one day?
Daily contact lenses should always be disposed of at the end of each day. The material used in daily disposable contact lenses is simply not designed for cleaning or to be resistant to buildup of bacteria and protein deposits.
How many hours can I wear daily disposable contact lenses?
Daily disposable contact lenses are designed to be worn comfortably for 8 hours at a time, some can be worn for as long as 16 hours per day. However, the total time for which they should be worn is individual, depending upon your optician's advice and the type/brand of contact lenses worn.
